What to Pack for a Summer Elopement in New Orleans

I'm not going to lie. It is hot here in New Orleans in the summer. And very humid. But we have methods to battle it and still have tons of fun and great photographs. So here are a few items I would pack or pick up when you arrive for your summer elopement in New Orleans.

What to Pack for Your Summer Elopement in New Orleans

1. Cute rain boots and umbrella (pick a light color but be careful as the color of the umbrella will reflect on your face, I prefer white myself).

2. I freeze a wet washcloth and put it in a ziplock baggie along with a dry one to help cool off.

3. Blotting tissues for your makeup (talk to your salon about best products).

4. Hair spray...LOTS! If you are staying in the French Quarter there are three Walgreens locations and one CVS so plan to pick it up there to avoid drama at TSA checkpoints if you're flying into town.

5. Flats that are comfortable and NOT open toed. The streets can be a bit icky sometimes. My clients usually carry their high heels and put them on when we do portraits and of course the ceremony.

6. Cute, loose sundress. We live in those in the summer.

7. A handheld fan. You know like in the olden days?! You can pick one up at one of many booths in the French Market for under $5. You'll be glad you did.

Just a few things to get you started! And don't let rain scare you, makes for some of the most beautiful photos with saturated colors.

One of the perks of hiring me for your wedding and portrait photography is that I help in planning your visit and wedding in New Orleans. So give me a call to inquire about pricing and availability. 504-920-8703.
